Common problems and solutions of laminating machine

Laminating machines can be divided into two categories: instant-coating laminating machines and pre-coating laminating machines. It is a kind of special equipment for paper, board, and film laminating. After being pressurized by rubber roller and heating roller, they are combined together to form a paper-plastic product. What should I do if there is a problem with the laminating machine? What are the common faults of the laminating machine?

1. Film-coated products are warped

The primary reasons for this problem are:
(1) The printed product is too thin: try to prevent the thin paper from laminating.
(2) Unbalanced tension: adjust the tension of the film to balance it
(3) The compound pressure is too large: appropriately reduce the compound pressure.
(4) The temperature is too high: lower the compound temperature.
(5) Excessive pull of the film: Excessive pull of the film will cause the film to stretch and deform, and after the product is slit and the external force is removed, the film will return to its original shape, causing the product to bend to one side of the film. The treatment method is: adjust the screwing depth of the film expansion screw to reduce the braking force.

2. There are snowflake dots on the product

(1) Excessive powder spraying on the printed product: If the printed product is sprayed with too much powder and cannot be completely dissolved by the adhesive, a large area of ​​snowflakes will appear on the coated product. In this case, probably increase the amount of glue appropriately, or sweep away the dust on the printed product before laminating.
(2) The amount of glue is too small: the amount of glue is too small, and the entire surface of the printed product will show snowflakes. The treatment method is to appropriately increase the amount of glue applied.
(3) The pressure of the pressing roller is not appropriate: Too much pressure of the pressing roller will squeeze out the adhesive at the margin of the printed product, resulting in the appearance of snowflakes on the margin of the printed product; and the lack of compaction will also show snowflakes. The treatment method is to adjust the pressure of the pressure roller correctly.
(4) There is dry rubber on the gluing roller: the area with dry rubber on the gluing roller has a small amount of glue, which will make the coated products appear snowflakes here. The treatment method is to wipe clean the rubber roller.

3. The product has bubbles

(1) The printing ink layer is not completely dry: first heat pressing and then gluing, it can also postpone the coating date to make it completely dry.
(2) The printing ink layer is too thick: it can be added appropriately

4. Film-coated products show wrinkles

The primary causes of wrinkles in film-coated products are unbalanced film transfer rollers, inconsistent tightness or turbulence at both ends of the film, excessively thick adhesive layer, or unevenness, pressure inconsistency, and unequal linear speed at both ends of the electric heating roller and rubber roller. It is possible to separately adopt methods such as adjusting the conveying roller to balance, changing the film, adjusting the amount of glue, increasing the temperature of the drying tunnel, and adjusting the orientation and technical parameters of the electric heating roller and the rubber roller.

5. Poor adhesion at the side

This appearance is mainly present in the thick paper film. Thick paper will undergo certain bending deformation during winding, and the smaller the winding diameter, the more significant it is. The coated products that are not dry just after the pressing roller are often pushed apart by the bent paper at the edge, resulting in poor adhesion here. In order to increase the rate of coated products, the width of the lap should be minimized at this time to ensure that the width of the improper bonding is within the range of the die-cutting mouth.

6. The product is not sticky

(1) Adhesive selection is improper, the amount of glue is set incorrectly, and the proportioning is incorrectly measured: re-select the adhesive trademark and the amount of coating, and accurately proportion
(2) The appearance of the printed product is not good: if there is powder spray, the ink layer is too thick, the ink is not dried or not completely dried, etc., bad adhesion can be formed, you can use a dry cloth to gently wipe off the spray powder, or add an adhesive to coat it. The amount of cloth, increase the pressure, and choose light-hot pressing and re-gluing, or switch to a high solid content adhesive, or add adhesive coating thickness, or add drying tunnel temperature and other methods.
